Simeon knew that he had met the Messiah in this little child, God made man. Simeon speaks a truth, that now that he has seen and held the Messiah in his hands he can die in peace - his life can come to an end.
We are all called hold the Messiah in our hearts, so that we can have the peace He brought to us, and which Simeon saw, when He was but a baby.
