God Is Busy

If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min. The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.

Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.'

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?'

The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.'

The classroom erupted in cheers!

  1. What a marvelous thing conscience is. God is a pacifist - the CREATOR, after all! - but peace must be protected if it is to be sustained. Christ brought/brings His message of peace to mankind - all mankind, not just the followers of one particular religion. Redemption/salvation is a personal path/experience. Every one of us has a choice to make: to defend God's message and path of peace or not.

I made my choice a long time ago when I was still a young man. But I had the advantage of genuine literacy (in several languages) and education, a childhood characterized by a lot of world travel and prolonged exposure to cultures other than my own etc. Today'y young people were "educated" in the cauldron of post-modern relativism, which means their education comprises little more than post-modern ideological robot programming devoid of any unbiased historical and/or sociocultural framing.

Our current "culture" would have one believe that education is a right and that therefore eduation is what the public system delivers. This is presumptuous reasoning, and anyone who has ever been involved in a large-scale corporate hiring drives involving college/university campus drives can tell you. This partially explains the popularity of trade school and technical college graduates on the current and very restrained employment market.

Employers have figured out that people who know how to do something make better employees than people who THINK they know how to do more than they can, know more and better than anybody else, and are so drunk on post-modern ideological puffery and their own self-esteem that they can hardly walk and chew gum at the same time.

  2. Though I heartily concur with you analysis, Joshua, I take mild umbrage with your concluding statement. I think that the particular group of individuals that you are referring to can walk and chew gum at the same time, however the simultaneous carrying on of a conversation is beyond them.

    Just a point of clarification.

I fully support Marines decking self inflated morons.

I stand corrected. I was perhaps a tad harsh.

On the subject of Marines decking self-inflated morons, I endorse your perspective wholeheartedly and tip my hat to your restraint.
